Can I migrate from Bluehost / GoDaddy / SiteGround / WP Engine?
Yes. We've migrated sites from every major shared host and most managed-WordPress hosts (WP Engine, Kinsta, Flywheel, Pantheon). Migration is included free for sites we're also building or rebuilding; standalone migrations are $300–$500 depending on complexity. Zero downtime — we cut DNS over during your low-traffic window.
Do you host WordPress sites or only your custom builds?
Both. The hosting infrastructure runs PHP, MySQL, and modern web servers — same stack WordPress needs. We're comfortable hosting WordPress, but be aware: we'll recommend hardening (limit-login plugins, 2FA, strict update schedule) and we'll be honest about WordPress's ongoing maintenance burden compared to our hand-coded sites.
What's actually included in "minor content updates"?
Copy tweaks (rewriting a paragraph, fixing typos), swapping a photo, adding or removing a single page or service entry, updating contact info, adjusting a phone number, adding a holiday hours notice, etc. Anything that's a half-hour of work or less, up to ~4 requests/month on the Starter plan and 8/month on Growth. Bigger projects (new sections, redesigns, new functionality) get quoted separately.
How do daily backups work?
Every night, the entire site (files + database) is snapshotted and copied to off-site storage in a different region. We keep 30 days of daily backups and 12 months of weekly snapshots. Restore to any backup point takes ~15 minutes for a typical small-business site. Monthly disaster-recovery test on our end ensures the restores actually work.
What happens when my site goes down?
Our monitoring pings your site every 60 seconds. If two consecutive checks fail, an alert hits our on-call inbox AND your designated contact email. Critical issues (full outage, hack) get response within 1 business hour during business hours, or 2 hours after hours. We don't make you call us — we're already working on it before you notice.
Do you handle email hosting?
No — we don't run email servers. We strongly recommend Google Workspace ($6/user/mo) or Microsoft 365 ($6+/user/mo) for business email — they handle deliverability, spam filtering, mobile sync, and storage at a quality no shared host can match. We'll set up your email DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) as part of any new project at no extra charge.
What's the difference between this and a Care Plan?
Hosting & Maintenance IS the Care Plan. The two terms are interchangeable — historically agencies sold them separately, but for small businesses the package makes more sense as one offering. Some shops will sell you "hosting" for $30 and then "maintenance" for $200 — same total, more confusing invoice.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Month-to-month with no annual contract. If you cancel we hand you off cleanly: a final backup, source code, and a documented runbook for whoever takes over. We don't hold your domain, code, or content hostage.
What about high-traffic spikes (going viral, ad campaigns)?
The hosting tier you're on includes a comfortable bandwidth allowance for typical small-business traffic (up to ~50,000 sessions/month on Starter). If you're running a paid ad campaign or expecting a spike, give us a heads-up and we'll temporarily bump capacity. Sustained higher traffic moves you to a larger plan tier.
Where are the servers?
Primary infrastructure is in US data centers (typically Virginia or Texas). Off-site backups are kept in a different region from the primary server (typically Oregon) so a single regional outage can't take out both your live site and your backups. CDN edge nodes around the country mean visitors get fast load times regardless of where they are.
